Content Integrity Policy
Content Integrity Policy
At Synthesia, we are committed to protecting intellectual property rights and individual rights to privacy. These commitments are reflected in our Acceptable Use Policy as well as in this policy, which explains how you can report violations of these rights, to the extent they arise from content published and publicly disseminated by Customers and their Authorized Users using Synthesia’s services. In the event of any inconsistency or overlap between the scope or provisions of this Synthesia Takedown Policy and the Data Request Policy, the provisions of the Data Request Policy will control.
Copyright Takedown Process
We take the intellectual property rights of others seriously and require that our Customers and their Authorized Users do the same. If you own a copyright or have authority to act on behalf of a copyright owner and want to report a claim that a third party is infringing that material from Synthesia’s service, please send a notice to our copyright agent that includes all of the items below and we will expeditiously take appropriate action:
A description of the copyrighted work that you claim is being infringed;
A description of the material you claim is infringing and that you want removed or access to which you want disabled and the URL or other location of that material;
Your address, telephone number, and email address;
The following statement: “I have a good faith belief that the use of the copyrighted material I am complaining of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law (e.g., as a fair use)”;
The following statement: “The information in this notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of the copyright or of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed”; and
An electronic or physical signature of the owner of the copyright or a person authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Our designated copyright agent to receive such claims can be reached as follows:
By mail:

By email: legal@synthesia.io
We may, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate the accounts of users who may be repeat infringers.
This process does not limit our ability to pursue any other remedies we may have to address suspected infringement.
Privacy Takedown Process
If you discover published content that you believe violates your privacy rights, please contact us at legal@synthesia.io. The subject line of the email should read “Privacy Takedown Report” and must include:
(1) Your full name,
(2) URL of the disputed content or other information necessary to identify the disputed content,
(3) What personal information is included in the disputed content and evidence that such information relates to you,
(4) Information about how you came across the disputed content.
Please note that only individuals, and not organizations or companies, may avail themselves of this process; the following is an overview:
1. Initial Content Assessment: Upon receiving a complaint, we will evaluate whether the content was published, and is still available from Synthesia’s services.
2. Initial Process Assessment: Synthesia’s services are intended for businesses and as a general principle, the Customer owns and controls any content they and their Authorized Users create and publish using the services. For that reason, Synthesia will make an initial determination, in its sole and absolute discretion, whether this process may be followed, or instead the request should more suitably be made under the Data Request Policy.
3. Notification to Customer: If the request is valid and appropriate, we will inform the applicable Customer of the complaint and request a written response.
4. Resolution: If the Customer removes or alters the content published through Synthesia’s services to exclude your personally identifiable information, the request will be considered resolved.
5. Final Determination: If the Customer does not act on the request or provides reasoning for continued storage or display of the content, we will assess whether the disputed content violates our Acceptable Use Policy. If found in violation, we will remove the content from our servers and notify you and the content creator of the removal.
Additional Considerations
Please note that the disputed content may be available on platforms outside our control. While we strive to address privacy concerns promptly, we cannot guarantee the removal of content from external sources.
For further information and to report a privacy violation, contact us at legal@synthesia.io.
