Personal Avatars are natural-looking AI avatars generated from just two minutes of footage from a webcam or phone. They feature great lip-syncing and natural backgrounds to deliver a more engaging and realistic experience, boosting audience satisfaction and trust.
Personal Avatars are animated using an advanced form of looping technology called auto alignment, which understands the difference between when the avatar is talking and when it is silent, and coordinates the body movements in a way that is more responsive to the content of the script. We’ve reused the same technology powering our Expressive Avatars to achieve better lip-sync and a more natural voice compared to other custom AI avatars, as demonstrated in the comparison below:
Personal Avatars also come paired with your cloned voice which allows your avatar to communicate in over 30 languages, allowing you to reach a global audience while still delivering a personal touch.
To create a Personal Avatar, all you need to do is log in to Synthesia from your browser, go to the Avatars tab in the left-side menu, and click the Create button for Personal Avatars.
You will be asked to either record a video using your webcam or to upload footage captured with an external camera. This video captures your facial features, expressions, and voice, which our AI model uses to generate a highly accurate digital avatar that looks, moves, and speaks just like you.
Then, you’ll record a second video as an acknowledgement of consent that Synthesia has the right to create your Personal Avatar.
Synthesia has prioritized privacy and security since day one. Our platform uses encrypted data transmission and secure storage on AWS to protect your personal information and ensure that your Personal Avatar is protected from misuse.
We always obtain consent before generating an AI avatar and give avatar owners full control over their digital twin’s usage, including the ability to request that their data be deleted from our platform at any time.
